Chanel Eyeshadow Quad Review (Les 4 Ombres in Raffinement)

Ever since I got into Chanel makeup I have been desperate to try their Eyeshadow Quads! The formulation of the shadows is silky smooth and beautifully pigmented, so I thought it was about time I bought one! If you follow my instagram, "Mark_William_" then you may have seen a picture of this eyeshadow quad (: If you don't follow my instagram, then what are you waiting for? It's the one and only place where you can get sneak peeks and inside looks on past, present, and future posts including makeup reviews, my creations, and much more!
While on my trip to Chicago at the beginning of last month, I stopped by Chanel and purchased this eyeshadow quad in Raffinement.

There is a shimmery tan, a shimmery grey, a shimmery peach, and a matte brown. I think this palette is perfect for people who love a simple, yet statement-making eye look. This palette comes with a mirror, the four eyeshadows, and two sponge-tip applicators one of which has a slightly skinnier shape and ends in a rounded point. The shadows are very high quality! Not chalky or grainy at all, give an even distribution of color, and are very vivid and rich in pigment! When I pair these with Urban Decay's shadow primer (a review of this product coming soon), they stay on all day without creasing or rubbing off.
Although this palette is 59$, I love it and would suggest it to the Chanel-lover looking to splurge. If you are not that person, then I suggest looking for something similar by Revlon or Maybelline (my favorite drugstore brands). I am pleased with my purchase but be careful before you spend a lot of money on something that can easily be replaced by a drugstore brand for much cheaper ;)
Here is a close-up shot of the shadows:
Clockwise from bottom left: Tan, Grey, Peach, Brown

And here are swatches of the different colors:
From left to right: Tan, Peach, Grey, and Brown
Today, I gave a cateye-like effect by using the tan on my lid, the grey in the crease blended up to the outer corner of my eyebrow, the brown on my outer upper lashline to give a little definition, and the peach on my lower lash line and brow bone to highlight. I paired it with a matte foundation and pink lip.
