Diorshow Fusion Mono: Fall 2013 Behind The Scenes

When I was preparing for my Fall shoot, I had a vision of the makeup look I wanted to pair with the clothes. This vision sprouted from an advertisement I had seen on Dior's website for their new cream-powder eyeshadow: Diorshow Fusion Mono. The colors were vibrantly metallic and were (truthfully) claimed to be very versatile. One color in particular, "Millenium," stood out to me! I decided to pick this up from Dillards and proceeded to have the eye look for my shoot incorporate it!

While using this product, I discovered some pros and cons about it:

Pros:
-Used many different ways
-Easy application
-Buildable Coverage
-Vibrant pigmentation
-No creasing for at least 3 hours (without a primer)
-Beautiful packaging

Cons:
-Strong "chemically" scent
-Tool provided not ideal for application
-Removes very easily
-High price point ($30)

Here are some photos of the product and the included applicator:

Here is a swatch I did of the eyeshadow to show you its versatility and buildability:

Bottom - Finger, Middle - Dry Brush, Top - Damp Brush (water)
The look we did for my shoot was achieved using the dry brush method.

All in all, I would say this product is solely for people who need to do powerful, glamourous makeup looks very often! The jar comes with a lot of product (6.5 g) considering you would only use it for these types of looks! Considering the price point, though, I can not say I am completely sold on this new eyeshadow. I have tried to use this for simpler day-to-day looks, but have not had much success. This product is a statement-making powerhouse, and buyers should consider this.

P.S. I am sorry for not posting these past two weeks. I have been catching up on some much-needed rest!
