This would be the 'E' of the new title, Em, better known as claricemstarlings on Instagram and Tumblr! I will be joining Mark as a co-blogger here on E&M Philosophy. Whereas Mark leans towards a modern, New York runway chic style, I draw my inspirations from vintage and street-style.
And I'm also--as you might have guessed from the title of the post--a huge fan of Lana Del Rey, including her makeup. So how better to introduce myself than by doing a collaboration with Mark on two Lana-inspired looks?
My look was based off a look Lana commonly wears during performances: big, doe-eyed eye makeup with heavy liner, and glossy nude lip-liner defined lips.
Mark chose the bolder lip and more natural eye look Lana wears on her Born to Die album cover as his inspiration.
An outfit and overall look comparison!
My look, which used the following key products: Hard Candy Glamouflage concealer (worn mixed with moisturizer as a foundation), Milani Baked Bronzer in Glow, Essence All About Matt! pressed powder, NYX Dreamcatcher eyeshadow palette in Dusk Til Dawn, Jordana Made to Last 12 Hour eyeliner in Espresso Last, and L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara in Carbon Black. On my lips is Milani Color Statement Lipliner in All Natural, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cairo, and Jordana Lip Out Loud gloss in TTYL.
Mark's look consisted of five main products: for a luminous base, Loreal True Match Lumi, as overall dewy highlight, E.L.F. All Over Cover Stick in Persimmon, Chanel Joues Contraste blush in In Love, Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Bronze, Chanel Eyeshadow Quad in Raffinement, and a custom lip color.
We had fun creating these looks, and I look forward to posting more in the future.
